Judgment Domestication
What is judgment (judgement) domestication? Domesticating a judgment is easy to define but not very easy to create. Let me explain: Sometimes the winner of a civil judgment resides in a different state than does the debtor, the person or corporation that lost the lawsuit. This is also an issue when the ASSETS of the debtor are located in a different state or even several states. In order for the judgment to be collected in the home state of the debtor or in the state(s) where the assets are located the judgement must first be DOMESTICATED in each of the states. If you and the debtor and all of the debtors assets are in the state where the judgment was ordered (decreed) then a judgment domestication is not required. Overall, judgment collection and enforcement is not possible without the completion of the domestication process for all the states where you wish to have the full force and authority of the legal judgment working for you. The process of domesticating a judgment requires completing the appropriate applications for domestication in the proper court of the locals (states) where the domestication must be completed. Typically this process takes at least 30 days, often longer as it is not among the highest priorities for attention in most court systems. National judgment recovery specialists, such as us, have the most experience in the area of domesticating civil judgements throughout the USA.
